Plastisol - what is it?
Plastisol is an easy-to-use plastic material that many industries - from toy to automotive - use. It is a liquid that fuses (becomes solid) when heat is applied.
Plastisol is composed of two main components: PVC resin and plasticizer. The resin typically comes in powder form. Plasticizer lends softness, flexibility and durability. Additives to the formulation may include pigments, flame retardants (although plastisol is by itself low flammability), release agents and stabilizers.
Plastisol produces luxurious parts that, depending upon formulation and molding process, can be made to look and feel like leather, or provide a very tough, protective coating that resists wear. Plastisol is light and heat stable, resistant to oil and water, and very durable.
Plastisol is versatile. It may be used in many molding processes: hot dip, cold dip, slush, rotational molding, open molding and more.

deep, brilliant colors that to all the way through the product.
If color matching is required, Renosol has the capability to match your color specification, important for automotive interior applications.
Custom-compounding is our specialty. We can adjust gloss level, viscosity, and manipulate the compound not only for desired product characteristics but also to your processing parameters.
Plastisol is cost effective. It comes out ahead of many alternative materials, especially considering low scrap rates achieved by process-minded formulation, excellent batch-to-batch uniformity and low tooling costs.
And plastisol is safe. It is important to keep changing environmental concerns in mind as well as the evolving needs of customers. Renosol leads the industry in the elimination of ingredients that may be harmful either during the processing of the material or in a product's end use.
Renosol's R&D staff continually explores ways to improve the performance of its plastisols, such as reducing fogging in vehicle interiors. Its technical staff is on hand to assist you with your formulating needs, processing requirements and questions.
If you supply to automotive OEMs, Renosol has a suite of plastisol compounds qualified to OEM specifications.
